In 1999, the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm formed a non-profit corporation known as the Carmelite System for the Aged and Infirm. By the formation of this System the Sisters have arranged to perpetuate and strengthen their mission in long-term health ministry in the facilities under their auspices. The system hopes to be a beacon of Catholic health care for the aged and infirm and to all whose lives the Sisters touch. It seeks to proclaim the value of life and the beauty and dignity of old age, striving to maintain a leadership role in the shaping and delivery of services and programs to the care of the elderly.
