Housekeeping / Laundry Assistant

Job Summary:

The Housekeeper/ Laundry Assistant works with the Director of Environmental Services to ensure timely cleaning of all of the common areas, halls, resident rooms, and laundry as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs cleaning procedures in accordance with facility standards, procedures and policies
  • Observes waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy
  • Is able to follow directions
  • Assists in the proper care and use of housekeeping equipment
  • Identifies and reports any equipment malfunction
  • Reports any observed area in poor repair
  • Dispenses soap, paper and other housekeeping supplies
  • Assist with laundry duties
  • Transport soiled laundry from resident units to main laundry
  • Respond to all residents, family members, and staff in a courteous, patient, and helpful manner
  • Respect the dignity of each person


High School Diploma or equivalent.  Experience in Housekeeping in long  term care is preferred.
